My printed work is developed from my exploration of digital image capture processes. I use digital photography and drawing which both have a ‘documentary’ association to them, looking at their ability to record. Aware of the technology that has become available I am interested in how its use has changed our perception of the world.
I do not see the work as being either drawing or photography in its own right; I start by exploring the qualities of a digital camera and its abilities to take a photograph and combining these with simple drawn imagery.
My work has increasingly begun to look at how photographic reproduction has become central to image production, where I combine objects constructed in the studio, found pictograms, photographs and drawings to produce an image.
