The grass scroll in the title of this set of painting refers to a pot in the V&A. It had a pattern decoration called grass scroll, I couldn’t see how the decoration related to the term ‘grass scroll’. I did however like the interlocking nature of the design and the positive negative elements of its form. It marks the start of collecting visual elements on a less contrived basis.
Other smaller sets of paintings such as “Skate” and “Fronts” are also included as they need to go somewhere.
