The Plant Room exhibition

Persistence Works Gallery
Yorkshire Artspace
21 Brown Street

Sheffield based artist Peter Griffiths has been commissioned to make new work for a solo exhibition at Yorkshire Artspace in Sheffield. Peter’s work combines digital drawing and screen printing techniques to formulate compositions which are derived from found objects and the exploration of the built and natural environment. During the summer Peter has been working at three garden locations in the city: Meersbrook Community Walled Garden, Parson Cross Community Garden and Sheffield Botanical Gardens, collecting imagery. The prints in the exhibition are inspired by the planting found in each of these unique locations.

A number of activities will take place in the gallery during the exhibition, including workshops and a plant sale. These are intended to give insight into the work in the exhibition, and how digital processes can be used creatively. All workshops are for adults aged 16+ and places must be booked. See below for more details about the workshops and how to book.  People who attend the workshops will be invited to display examples of their work in the gallery space for a limited time.
